About Us

«BONE» is a different, pseudo-spiritual take on miqo’te Keeper of the Moon clans. We are centered around the teaching, containment, and--at times--neutralization of dangerous and powerful magicks, along with the witches, warlocks, and mages who wield them.Located on the Balmung server, the Children is a roleplay group founded by Keepers and steeped in the perhaps strange values of its founders, the Falahni tribe of the Dravanian Wood. However, unlike many of their kind, the Children--while primarily serving Keepers--is open to all peoples of Eorzea and beyond. Our combination FC & CWLS explores themes such as:
--- magic (of all schools, including grassroots tribal magicks)
--- occultism
--- tribe-based rituals and rites
--- horror

Though our FC and house are on Balmung, we have an attached CWLS open to all roleplayers on the Crystal Data Center. Potential applicants need not join the FC in order to become part of the group. However, to enjoy the greater privileges and authority offered by the upper ranks of the Children hierarchy, being a member of the FC is required. Furthermore, the majority of significant leadership positions (including the Camarilla) are reserved only for miqo'te adherents and very RARE exceptions.

The general populace, regardless of race or creed, may enjoy FC-wide personal plot-lines dedicated to individual members, whose content is a collaboration between the individual and the Camarilla. The Children boasts rich lore (found within the FC/CWLS Discord) surrounding the Falahni and similar tribes, including tribe religion, customs, culture, and more. We also offer the opportunity for joint backstories--meaning, on a case-by-case basis, we will allow characters to have been born into the clan. Though blood-relation is not a requirement to join the Children, this is simply a plot bonus for potential applicants interested in connecting their characters more deeply to Dravanian-Keeper culture.

The Prophet's Vision

Though the precise details of Prophet Lho's vision are unknown even to her most trusted confidants, enough to cast a dark cloud over the Children has been revealed to both the Camarilla and the Kin. A great Calamity overtaking the world, brought about by powerful, terrible magicks wielded by the uninitiated and the careless alike.Such wanton displays--the number great enough to trigger something grotesque and unimaginable deep within Hydaelyn. The land barren and drained of all aether, overwhelmed by the voidal beasts that lean so heavily against a fragile Veil, leaving the star susceptible to the ravenous denizens of the Dark Realm. Thus has the Goddess entrusted the Prophet and--by extension--the Children of the Blessed Bone with preventing this wretched scourge from afflicting the world. Each clan-kinsman is expected to do all within their power to uphold this divine promise made to their most beloved deity. The most worthy death a kinsman can be granted is one in service to this sacred duty--trading their mortal life for the immortality of eternal remembrance by the clan.

2. ) No discriminatory, prejudiced, or otherwise hurtful language.
» Any abusive language (including jokes that "punch down") will NOT be tolerated. Everyone--regardless of gender, sexuality, or religion--should feel welcome here.

ic

1. ) The Children (Camarilla and Kin alike) must preserve the Vision's portents at all times. You are expected to do all that is possible and stop at nothing to prevent acts that would cause the portents to occur.2. ) Camarilla (and the kinsmen chosen to accompany them) must wear masks at all times while out on expeditions.3. ) Only Keepers may rise to the ranks of the Camarilla. Very RARE exceptions are made to this rule ONLY to the Prophet's distinction.4. ) To progress through the hierarchy, one must complete a trial to prove their worthiness. Those who fail to do so will remain in their current rank until permitted by the Camarilla to try again. Non-Keepers will face challenges most grueling.5. ) Furthermore, non-Keepers will be expected to earn acceptance into the clan. They will remain rank-less until they have done so.6. ) You may not bring harm of any kind to your clan-kinsmen. Serve and protect your fellows well, that they may do so for you in return.7. ) Follow what your heart dictates to you, but do not forget the clan. Disloyalty to the Children will be met with the minimum penalty of banishment from clan territory.8. ) Disciplinary actions are to be carried out solely by the Camarilla or a trusted kinsman tasked personally by the Prophet. The only exception is in the event that hesitation will result in grievous harm to a clan-kinsman.

( Remember: lore-bending is permitted; lore-breaking is not. )( Additionally, this community adheres heavily to Cause and Effect in roleplay; this means that IC actions will always have IC consequences, for good or ill. Breaking the IC rules does not result in dismissal from the group--extenuating circumstances aside.
Also bear in mind that serious IC punishments will always be OOCly discussed and agreed upon beforehand. )

Feel free to ask an OOC officer for rule clarification. These rules may be changed at any time.Key Phrase: Mother's Bones are Overgrown

Hierarchy

The Camarilla

The Hollow Prophet »
The Divine Matron and Caretaker of the Children--by Her guiding hand do they find their way in this unforgiving world. She is believed to have a direct connection to the Goddess Menphina. It is typical to address her as "Your Grace" or "Lady Prophet".
LHO FALAHNI
The Grand Patricians »
They compose the remaining members of the Camarilla who are tasked with watching over their lessers. It is typical to address them as "Lord", "Lady", "Coronet", or their title. They are comprised of:
The High Seer, master of conjury » -----------------
The Exalted Sorcerer, master of thaumaturgy » -------------
The Supreme Occultist, master of the voidal arts » Lyhe Ul
The High Summoner, master of convocation » Zhela Dakwhil
The Exalted Starcaller, master of astrology » ----------------
The Supreme Witch, master of animism » Lho Falahni

The Kin

The Paragons of Truth »
The senior magi whose experience and wisdom is owed to their juniors by right. They have trained and studied well beneath the Camarilla, and they have earned their place among the upper echelons of the Blessed society.
The Lords of Song »
The denizens of the Black Guard, which exists as the Children's unflinching shield. All those whom lack sufficient magical aptitude are trained in some manner of physical combat, which is only to be used in service to the clan at large.
The Wild Magi »
The main population of the Children, comprised of fledgling and intermediate witches and warlocks who train under both the Paragons and the Camarilla. These are the wayward souls entrusted to the Prophet for succor and guidance, in an attempt to save them from their own predilection for chaos.

Unlisted Ranks

Each member of the Camarilla may take both a retainer to handle their personal affairs as well as a student to personally mentor in their given art. These chosen few are to be shown the proper level of respect by the clan at large.

Within each sub-group (the Paragons, the Lords, and the Magi), there is an internal hierarchy dictated entirely by seniority. A veteran Magi who is promoted to Paragon will begin at the bottom of the figurative food chain and be subject to the wisdom and judgement of their seniors. For the most part, the Camarilla do not meddle in these affairs and prefer to allow the Kin to handle them as they will; however, abuse of this authority may stir the Camarilla to action. Treat your juniors accordingly.

Community Management

«BONE» management is split into two groups: OOC leadership and IC officership. Every member of the team is listed on the Management page, along with their in-game rank and OOC responsibility. It is important, as a potential applicant, to understand the differences between these two groups.- OOC leadership consists of our FC leads and OOC officers. They are responsible for managing both the FC and the CWLS, along with the various members within the community. OOC leadership are your typical FC officers, who deal with conflict, OOC rule enforcement, recruitment, event planning, website management, advertising, and more. They are directly involved with all administration that goes on to keep the FC/CWLS running. The majority of the time (but not always!), OOC officers also serve as IC officers in the Camarilla.- IC officership is composed of our roleplay moderators who help run the community in an IC capacity. Not only are their characters the highest-ranked in the group, they are also extremely knowledgeable about the group's custom lore. Once a player has been OKed by OOC leadership, the IC officers are responsible for recruiting that person's character into the group. They also help lead events and plot scenes. However, IC officers are not responsible for handling OOC administration, rule violations, or conflicts. They should never be approached with any OOC problems.

LHO FALAHNI
» The Doe Prophet - The Hollow Prophet
Wildling turned yet woodsin renewed, the remnants of the forest's curse remain within the Falahni princess, leaving their mark upon her. Taking this in stride, however, Lho has become the most talented of her line's prophesying ancestry. Often unsettling to her fellow tribesman, noone can possibly predict Lho's whims or intentions. Despite this she leads with pride and does all that she can for the sake of her clan. No matter the cost or sacrifice.

LYHE UL
» The Wolf Occultist - The Hollow Shepherd
Sworn to protect and serve the Prophet, Lyhe'ra stands ever present at Lho's side, acting eternally as her every faithful shadow. His appearance within the clan continues to be that of a vague mystery, as very few can solidly remember when he first showed up. Despite this, the title of Hollowed Shepard is something he holds with pride, holding true to his responsibilities with an uncanny might. Keen on harnessing the destructive powers of the void for good, Lyhe'ra would do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of the clan, while also ensuring their beloved Prophet sees her vision through.

ZHELA DAKWHIL
» The Phoenix Summoner
Migrating over from faraway Hingan skies, the scholar Zhela was drawn to Eorzea by the fleeting whispers of a prophecy. Now taking up the mantle of the Phoenix, the High Summoner passionately upholds the duties owed to her position--albeit with her own personal, eccentric touch.
